🌍 Waste Reduction in Mole Valley this Festive Season

As we celebrate the holidays, let’s also think about how we can reduce waste and recycle responsibly. Mole Valley residents have several opportunities to make a difference this Christmas and New Year.

🎄 JWS Christmas Tree Recycling

Don’t let your tree go to landfill! Between 1–17 January 2026, you can recycle your real Christmas tree at the following car parks:

  • Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall
  • Lower Road, Bookham
  • Reigate Road, Dorking
  • Ockley Village Hall

Disruptions in waste collection of the festive period will be published on the 10th December, we will provide a link to the changes here as soon as they are available.

♻️ Greene King’s Tub2Pub Campaign

We’re excited to share that Greene King’s ‘Tub2Pub’ recycling campaign will be back in 2026! This initiative helps recycle plastics while raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

  • In 2025, Tub2Pub collected over 240,000 tubs, raising £10,916 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
  • With your help, we can beat that record in 2026!

♻️ Bring Sites in Mole Valley
Mole Valley’s bring sites make it easy to recycle items that don’t go in your household bins. At these sites, you can recycle textiles and shoes, giving them a second life instead of sending them to landfill. You can also recycle cartons (including Tetra Paks) and paper containers with metal ends (without lids). By using bring sites for these materials, you’re helping reduce waste, conserve resources, and keep our community cleaner and greener.

🛍️ Recycling Beyond Bring Sites

For items that can’t be recycled at Mole Valley bring sites, you can use the Recycle Now website to find shops offering collection points for harder‑to‑recycle materials. Locally, several high street stores are helping reduce waste:

  • Delivery bags
  • Multi‑pack wrapping
  • Salad, pasta, and rice bags
  • Cheese, fish, and meat wrapping
  • Crisp packets and sweet bags
  • Biscuit and chocolate wrappers
  • Baby, pet food, detergent, and cleaning pouches

💄 Boots (Leatherhead)

Boots is tackling beauty and healthcare waste by accepting:

  • Plastic make‑up tubes, lipstick/lip balm tubes, eyeliner or concealer pens
  • Eyeshadow & brow palettes, compacts, and mascara tubes (with brush/wand)
  • Plastic lip balm pots, cream pots, and lotion tubes
