Do you have broken household items you think might be an ‘easy fix’ but you’re not sure where to start? A rip in your jeans, a keyboard with a sticky button, a leather bag with a broken strap?

Find your local Repair Café, a space where skilled volunteers can do their best to help you out. They can repair things like electrical items, mechanical items, technology, textiles, clothing, and bikes.

Mole Valley’s local Repair Cafés are:

Dorking Repair Café – You can find them at Dorking Christian Centre on the first Saturday of every month, 10:30am to 1pm. Read more about Dorking Repair Café here.

Fetcham and Bookham Repair Café – Pop in to St Mary’s Church Hall off the Ridgeway in Fetcham on the first Saturday of every month from 10am to 12:30pm. Read more about Fetcham and Bookham Repair Café here.

The worldwide organisation of Repair Cafés commits to extending the usefulness of items, stopping them from going to landfill, and saving money from buying new things. If you know a thing or two about fixing anything, you could also volunteer your time.

We are proud to award the Dorking Repair Café and Fetcham and Bookham Repair Café with the Waste and Recycling Badge for diverting broken items from landfill and giving them a second life. Those that visit the Repair Cafés also reduce their carbon footprint and money spent by using what they already own.

We’d love to hear from you if you have a story you would like to share with us about how you are taking action to become more sustainable!
