Sustainable Mole Valley Awards 2026
and Photography Competition Now Open
Following the success of last year’s Sustainable Mole Valley Awards, we are delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 awards.
The 2025 awards were a real highlight, bringing together residents, community groups, schools, organisations and businesses from across Mole Valley to celebrate the inspiring work taking place to create a more sustainable future. The event showcased innovative projects, shared learning and recognised the dedication of those making a positive difference in our district.
Over the last 12 months, many individuals and organisations have continued to take action on climate change, protect nature, strengthen communities and develop sustainable ways of living and working. The Sustainable Mole Valley Awards provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate these achievements.
Whether you are an individual, business, school, community group or organisation, we encourage you to submit an entry if you have delivered a project or initiative that contributes to sustainability in Mole Valley. You can also nominate another person or organisation whose work deserves recognition.
Award Categories
This year’s award categories are:
🍎 Food and Drink
Growing, sourcing and sharing food and drink in ways that are good for the environment and beneficial to the community.
🌿 Nature Recovery and Biodiversity
Projects that protect, restore or create habitats, enhance the natural environment and encourage action for nature.
🛍️ Sustainable Shopping
Initiatives that help reduce environmental impacts through more sustainable approaches to retail and consumption.
♻️ The Circular Economy
Projects focused on reducing waste and keeping materials in use through reuse, repair, refurbishment, recycling or composting.
⚡ Sustainable Energy
Energy efficiency, retrofit and renewable energy projects that support a more resilient future.
🚲 Green Transport and Active Travel
Initiatives that promote sustainable travel choices while improving health and wellbeing.
🎓 Education and Behaviour Change
Projects that inspire, educate and empower people to adopt more sustainable behaviours.
💼 Green Business
Businesses embedding environmental sustainability into their operations, products or services.
🤝 Social Sustainability
Projects that strengthen communities, improve wellbeing, promote equality and inclusion, reduce disadvantage and create opportunities for all.
Capture Mole Valley Through Your Lens
Alongside the awards, we are once again running the ‘Our Environment’ Photography Competition.
The competition celebrates the landscapes, wildlife, people and places that make Mole Valley special, while encouraging residents to share their unique perspectives on sustainability and the local environment.
The competition is open to all ages, with entries accepted in the following categories:
- Primary school-aged children (as of the 2026/27 academic year)
- Secondary school-aged children (as of the 2026/27 academic year)
- Adults aged 18 and over
Whether you are an experienced photographer or simply enjoy taking photos on your phone, we would love to see your entries.
Shortlisted photographers will be invited to attend the Sustainable Mole Valley Awards ceremony, where winners from each category will be announced and presented with their awards.
